Last summer we planted a pumpkin seed, then watched it grow.
It filled its designated plot, then took over the garden, the backyard, and began to threaten the neighborhood.
Everyday there were more and more leaves but in spite of all this magnificent greenery there was not one single pumpkin.
"Where are your pumpkins?" I asked.
"Pumpkins? Those are too difficult for me. I'd rather do leaves. Look how well I do leaves...sprong! sprong!...Besides, I'm afraid if I try my hardest and grow a pumpkin you won't like it, maybe you'll laugh."
"I love your leaves but you are capable of growing a pumpkin — and I would like you to try."
We cut back the leaves and lo and behold a few weeks later were graced with a beautiful little pumpkin. We danced for joy.
Everything in God's Nature is telling you to be who you are meant to be. Don't limit yourself to those things you are sure of. Go beyond your fears and into your dreams. Reach for your potential. As the pumpkin was within the vine, so too is the person you were meant to be within you. Don't be afraid to grow.
Don't be afraid to grow.
