What's Important?

How is it some people arrive at wisdom early in life, while others leave the same way they came in — blank!

Ever know a person who drew you to them simply because there was `something' about them? I am quite sure if you asked, you would discover that they are living with, or have lived through a crisis, hardship, or tragedy from which they drew strength and wisdom.

Not all people, however, become `sages' because of crises or hardship. Some turn to drink or drugs, or become perpetual blamers and whiners. Why will some mellow and mature while others become messed up and miserable? I suspect it depends on what you value.

What do you value? Is life something you are accumulating like money, clothes, titles, `things' — or experiencing like nature, truth, beauty, `people'?

What's important to you: your future, justice for all, your lawn, the land, your retirement, our future?

In it for yourself — or — sharing the wealth?

What is important?
