1 - A VOICE

Listen

It came as a voice in the wind, and spoke to me thus:

This is the waiting place.

I hope you have come alone for that is the requirement. There will be no interruptions here; you can think freely and without fear or reservation.

Few come to this place of their own choosing. Whatever your journey, you are here now. Are you brave enough to stay?

Leave right now if you are satisfied with what you know and who you are. When the door closes it will disappear except for the outline in your mind. You will be here forever unless you solve the riddle: "What is Life?"

Solve the riddle, and its answer will become the key to the next place. Fail, and the question itself will bury you. If you have decided to stay, it is time now to begin.

What is your name?

Without hesitation I offered: "My name is Barbara."
